TREND FORECASTING

Trend Forecasting is the identification of future concepts that drive the direction of what we will be doing and consuming in the future. The process is used across multiple industries and is a vital tool to ensure products and ideas are launched at the right time, are marketed to the appropriate consumer and have the right aesthetic to suit the prevailing mood.

This project was about the ZEITGEIST “the spirit of the times” understanding how to define an era, a time,the mood of a generation for the future. Which enabled me to develop my skills in forecasting the essence of the future, and develop ideas that will have resonance and timely impact.

I conducted initial research across multiple lifestyle sectors, identifying threads of commonality, using a variety of sources to establish an important theme that has the potential to have influence in 2017.
